My Mom has had a busy day at the hospital, with a slew of different medical people coming in for various things - including just now a blood transfusion and a challenging physical therapist visit that involved pushing Mom to get up and move over to a reclining chair, sit there for a couple of hours, then move back to the bed. I didn't get here until 10 a.m., and when I went downstairs for lunch and a short walk I did miss Dr. Fahey stopping by. He's the one who ordered the transfusion - Mom getting her own blood back that she gave a couple of weeks ago. Mom has been tired but she hasn't gotten much sleep. Both of us napped at one point.
Stephanie's mother, unfortunately, was not able to go through with her scheduled chemotherapy treatment back on Tuesday because earlier treatments have apparently knocked down her immune system and one of her blood counts is low. They'll apparently start it up again once her blood count comes back up (hopefully next week??).
You may have noticed Vincent's teacher this afternoon reported that they spent the day Thursday (it's already late Thursday night - almost 12 midnight - in Denmark right now) partly engaged in some getting-to-know-you activities (pictured on the Denmark trip blog) with the soon-to-be Danish 10th graders, who will be the ones visiting Louisville this fall. Carrie said things continue to be go OK. We haven't heard directly from Vincent, who said he'd connect with us at least after he takes the SAT on Saturday morning.
