Headed for Louisville

One of our candidates for the Research Assistant funded - like my position - by the Lilly Endowment grant for the U.S. Congregational Life Survey's "Wave 2" - but this position more clearly earmarked as for three years - has accepted the position. Joelle will be moving from Milwaukee, and she expressed in her in-person interview earlier this week about the decision by a realtor the denomination paid for to show her around possible rentals, only east of where my family and I live (St. Matthews). So I sent her information about housing options closer in to town (including the four near-town apartment complex we went to and "Liberty Green" (pictured above), the Phoenix Hill area condo and rental complex still under construction on the site of the (now HOPE VI-ed) old Clarksdale housing project), and we've also sent her a card congratulating her on her graduation (this weekend). When she arrives in June, she'll be the second of three or four new employees we hope to hire this spring/summer.
