Bird bath

Stephanie brought home a bird bath - like what's she's been looking for for a couple of weeks now - from the Munchkins Garden that she described visiting Saturday in an earlier blog entry. While Vincent stayed in and did well enough on his second-semester Algebra 1 practice final exam (90%) to qualify to take the final for real - hopefully on-line in Denmark, Stephanie wheeled the bird bath out to the stump in the middle of our garden, behind our patio in the back yard, where it now sits. It's a simple but beautiful stone bird bath, with hummingbirds carved on the side, and it can double as a sand bath (not just a water bath) for birds. We've got a bird feeder in the back yard, but we haven't had much luck keeping the squirrels out of it. We'll see how the bath does attracting birds. Already there are unusual looking flowers and fruit in the garden. Good work, Stephanie!

Just don't let the bird bath water become stagnant and breed mosquitoes!
