Stephanie having gone to a Louisville Bats game in June, all three of us - plus my new colleague Joelle and 35 folks from our church (including some new folks) joined us for a first day of July game between the Bats, the Cincinnati Reds' International League AAA affiliate, versus, the Indianapolis Indians, Cleveland's AAA affiliates. The Bats pitcher, on a rehab assignment from Cincinnati, really shut down the Indians' offense. And we got to see (or hear - Joelle and I were buying $1 a hot dog hot dogs) a grand slam, a Bats batter hitting a home run with the bases loaded (scoring four of our five runs in the process). We got to watch a very fast (2 hours) 5-0 shutout, visit with folks from church, and help introduce Joelle and some newer folks to Louisville/our church. With all of these people we probably didn't watch as much baseball as Stephanie and Angie did from the front row in June, but we had a good time. Thanks to Elaine for organizing this.
